Staff Evaluation
The administrators share the responsibility of evaluating the BC teaching and support staff at Sino-Canada High
School. Both the principal and the vice principal view evaluation as an ongoing process which focuses on
continuous feedback as a means to improve teaching and learning.
Pre- and post-conferences are held in conjunction with scheduled formal observations. New staff is evaluated
during the first year of teaching.
The returning staff is evaluated at least once every three years and each teacher has a professional growth plan
which is developed in a consultative fashion. Each year all teachers are asked to identify teaching goals aimed at
improving their instructional skills.
All staff at Sino-Canada High School is responsible for developing course outlines that link to the learning
outcomes of the courses they teach. It is the responsibility of each staff to make sure they meet the
expectations of the British Columbia curriculum and pace the course to ensure all curriculum content is covered.
